Market Lambs

Rules:

  1. Open to any Tennessee 4-H or FFA Member (4th – 12th grade on January 1, 2017).
  2. Lots will be divided into eight classes based on weight.
  3. Exhibitors may exhibit a maximum of four animals.
  4. Ewes and wethers only. No rams will be allowed. All market lambs must have lamb teeth.
  5. Animals must have identification (tagged or tattooed).
  6. Animals in the market show cannot be shown in the breeding show.
  7. Only halters will be allowed on the lambs as they are weighed. No additional materials will be allowed on the lambs as they are weighed.
  8. Health papers must be presented to the chairman prior to the show. Animals will be inspected soon after arrival.
  9. Animals must be on grounds by 4:00 PM, Wednesday, September 20, 2017.
  10. Weigh in will occur between 2:30 PM and 4:30 PM.

Premiums: 1st - $15.00, 2nd - $13.00, 3rd – $11.00, 4th - $10.00, 5th - $8.00, 6th-10th - $2.00

Grand Champion: $25.00, Reserve Grand Champion: $20.00

Breeding Ewe Show

Rules:

  1. Open to any Tennessee 4-H or FFA Member (4th – 12th grade on January 1, 2017).
  2. Registration papers in the name of the exhibitor and health papers must be presented to the chairman prior to the show.
  3. An exhibitor may enter a maximum of two animals per lot.
  4. Ewes only. No males. All lamb classes must have lamb teeth.
  5. Animals in the breeding show cannot be shown in the market show.
  6. Animals must be on grounds by 4:00 PM, Wednesday, September 20, 2017.
  7. Commercial ewe classes will be divided into three classes based on weight. An exhibitor can show a maximum of two commercial ewes.
  8. Only halters will be allowed on the commercial ewes as they are weighed. No additional materials will be allowed on the lambs as they are weighed.
  9. The registered show will consist of three breeds, AOB Meat, and AOB Wool. The three breeds will be determined by the number of entries and exhibitors per breed based on pre-registration. All other animals will show in AOB Meat or AOB Wool.
  10. Supreme champion will be determined by the five breeding show champions and the commercial ewe champion.
  11. It is strongly suggested to contact Michael Vestal at 731-733-0918 by September 18 to pre-register for the show. The three individual breeds will be determined based on pre-registration.
