Market Goats

Rules:

  1. Open to any 4-H or FFA Member (4th – 12th grade on January 1, 2017).
  2. Exhibitors can show a maximum of two animals per division (lot).
  3. Animals will be weighed and mouthed at check in. Lots will determined by weight and number of entries.
  4. Any breed or crossbred goat can show.
  5. Wethers and market does must have milk teeth.
  6. Wethers must not exhibit any testicular tissue. No bucks will be allowed.
  7. Yearling does are allowed to have no more than four adult teeth to be eligible. Senior does will have five or more adult teeth.
  8. All senior does will show together in one class, and there will not be a division champion for senior does.
  9. All goats should be dehorned or horns cushioned to prevent injuries to exhibitor.
  10. Animals cannot show in both the market classes and replacement classes.
  11. Animals must have identification (tagged or tattooed)
  12. Health certificates must be dated within 90 days of the show. All goats should be meet USDA regulations in accordance to Scrapie. See the Livestock Health Requirements for more details.
  13. Animals must be on grounds by 4:00 PM, Thursday, September 21, 2017. Animals will be released after the completion of the goat show.
  14. Entries must be registered by September 15, 2017 by contacting Mark Teague at 731-845-3935.

Premiums: 1st - $25.00, 2nd - $20.00, 3rd – $16.00, 4th - $14.00, 5th - $12.00

Division Grand Champion - $30.00, Division Reserve Champion - $25.00, Supreme Champion - $50.00

  • Lot 1210 – Wethers and Market Does
  • Lot 1220 – Doe Kids (raised for replacement)
  • Lot 1230 – Yearling Does (raised for replacement)
  • Lot 1240 – Senior Does
  • Lot 1250 – Supreme Champion Goat

Commercial Dairy Goat Show

Rules:

  1. Open to any Tennessee 4-H or FFA member (4th – 12th grade as of January 1, 2017)
  2. An exhibitor may enter a maximum of two animals per class.
  3. Does Only. No males allowed.
  4. Animals must have identification (tagged or tattooed)
  5. Animals must be on grounds by 4:00 PM, Thursday, September 21, 2017. Animals will be released after the completion of the show.

Premiums: 1st - $20.00, 2nd - $16.00, 3rd – $14.00, 4th - $12.00, 5th - $10.00

  • Class 15 - Commercial Dairy Goat
  • Lot 1261 – Junior Doe Kids (less than 12 months of age)
  • Lot 1262 – Senior Doe Kids (12 months to 24 months of age)
  • Lot 1263 – Senior Does (over 24 months)
  • Lot 1264 - Grand Champion Dairy Goat
  • Lot 1265 - Reserve Grand Champion Dairy Goat
